Dr. Cerise Lewis Ph.D., LMFT, LPCC
Building confidence and empowering individuals is my passion. In 2015, she earned a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. She began private practice in 2017 and went on to complete a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision in 2021. Her doctoral dissertation, which earned the 2022 ASERVIC Research Award, focused on counselor educators’ experiences teaching students to integrate faith and spirituality into clinical work. She is licensed as an MFT and LPCC in Minnesota, Arizona, and Wisconsin.
In addition to private practice, she trains and mentors the next generation of counseling professionals. She provides supervision for pre-licensed clinicians and interns, helping them build cultural competence, professional identity, and confidence in integrating spirituality into clinical practice. She is credentialed with MN BMFT, MN BBHT, AAMFT, and serves as an approved supervisor for MNMFT clinicians. She also teaches as an adjunct instructor in the MACP programs at Yorkville University, Liberty University, and Spring Arbor University, preparing students to be culturally responsive and effective counselors.
Her professional memberships include the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), American Counseling Association (ACA), Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), Minnesota Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (MAMFT), American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), and Midwest Association of Christian Counselors (MACC).
Whether through consulting, teaching, or therapy, her mission is consistent: to empower individuals, strengthen families, and cultivate culturally competent, spiritually integrated counseling professionals.
